Curriculum:
My curriculum is drawn from a variety of resources including Handwriting without Tears, Hooked on
Phonics, Counting on Math and Music Together.
Overview:
My program promotes learning through a wide variety of group and
individual activities, play time and educational field trips. Circle and story times are key elements of our day. Circle
time includes songs, finger plays, updating our calendar, assessing the weather, music and movement. We also learn the 'Kindness
Pledge' (please see link below).
Each month we explore themes that reflect our community, seasons and holidays
and/or topics of interest to the children. Incorporated into these themes are basic skills (such as letter, color,
number and shape recognition), early reading, early math, early writing, music, arts and crafts, cooking, science and cultural
activities.
Activities are included which celebrate diversity and allow children to learn about people,
holidays and creative activities from around the world.
